Diogenes the Greek philosopher said he was a citizen of the world in 400BC, so this is not a new idea but today in the wake of globalization and ecological degradation it takes on a new urgency.  Whilst conducting research into Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship in Wales it became apparent that developing an ecological global consciousness and engaging with ethics and politics on a deeply personal level was a route to a more creative and compassionate future.
